I have a 1987 Nissan Pathfinder XE 6cyl 3.0L 4×4
I have over a million miles on my truck (I am not kidding, people usually think I lie about it, but its true and its on miles not km).
The manual says that I can put 10w40 oil or 20w40 for places with higher temperature. I live in El Paso, its cold winters and hot summers. I usually put 20w40, because the other motor oil tends to disappear faster in between oil changes when I use the 10w40.
What I am looking for is what type of oil I should use, and what brand should I use. I want a good quality brand that would best fit the conditions of my truck, considering its old and it has a lot of millage on it.

Buy a bargain solid runaround. Same family for 8 years. Great reliable car running on LPG or Petrol. New radiator and clutch fitted this week. Ok so I just bought a 98 maxima it has pretty high miles 195k miles but runs near perfect but 2 gear slips verry little …so my question is should I get royal purple for the tranny or nissan atf…and wat kind of oil for the motor should I use 10w30 or should I go with thicker or thinner oil…

This Volkswagen Jetta GLS is a new car trade, it was owned by the wife of a Cardiologist who took excellent care of it. They had the oil changed every 5k mi and only used full synthetic oil. It only has 77k miles on it never been in an accident. I had it painted (base color w/clear coat) because of some faded paint on the hood and roof see the before and after pics below. I heard that Mobil1 Full Synthetic Oil was good and my friends at work has recommended it. It’s recommeded on the Acura RDX. I have tried many different oil including the Castrol GTX oil. So I though I do a conversion video to Mobil1 oil and give you an impression what I found. I will also demonstrate how I have change oil in my Acura as well. I have drain the Castrol GTX oil and replaced it with Mobil1 Full Synthetic Motor Oil. The oil looks like the regular oil but it protects the engine better. In short this Mobil1 rocks. I’m not going back to dyno oil. I didn’t go out to spend lots of $$$ but I think Mobil1 was definitely the best value in my area. See video on my findings.
