I need an oil change, and there’s a car wash by me that does oil changes/tire rotations etc. except it’s Quaker State. Is that a good brand, like the synthetic is just as good as Mobil 1?

VW recommends I use castrol 5w-40 syntec and change at 10k mile intervals. I have some free Mobil 1 5w-30 that is not VW recommended. What if any difference would it make? If I change my oil at 5k miles can I use any brand synthetic motor oil between 0w-40 or 5/10w-30/40 with no negative results on my 2007 2.0t FSI engine?
Also is the european spec motor oil much better than the U.S. spec. I read the US full synthetic is not according to European standards. Thank you

hello guys,
can you tell me more about valvoline motor oil?
compare to other brands like AMSOIL , Royal Purple and mobil 1??

Or is that overkill? I’m using mobil 1 in a 2004 mustang

so my car runs on synthetic oil (mobil 1) i don’t drive that much only to and from work mainly. so how long should i go before my next oil change? should i drive to a certain mileage or a certain time before it needs to be changed?

I have bought a yamaha xt225 in the early spring. I am planning on winterizing it soon and i plan on giving it an oil change. From the very beginning, the bike has only taken synthetic amsoil 10w40. I am wondering if anything will happen to the bike if i drain the oil and put Mobil 1 10w40 synthetic oil in?

Manufacturer recommends 3000miles Mobil 1 15000miles. I drive a 04 Dodge Neon with 150k on it

I want to know if anything bad would happen if I switch to Royal Purple Oil. I drive a Hyundai Santa Fe 2001 V6 which has a a bit more then 160,000 miles I’ve driven it for the pass 70,000 miles or so the car has been somewhat poorly maintained and I have used various types of oils such as (pass three changes have been synthetic) valvoline castrol and mobil 1 I have changed the oil approx. 10 times the intervals between each change have been as short as 3,000 miles and as much as 9,000 and have mostly used Chevron Gas.
Well I was told by my friend that If I use Royal Purple oil it will clean out everything to the point that any gunky build up preventing leaks from the engine will be open will no longer be there and will cause my engine to leak. Is this true?
Depending on what I’m told here I’ll end up using this oil, returning it, or even switching to something that is recommended(I don’t mind paying more for a superior product.) Thanks everyone in advance for answering.
