my dads first car was a 1964 ford falcon. came stock with a I6 but he put a 302 in it, then a 289, then a rebuilt 260. but that is where it stopped. the car has been sitting for 30 years with a brand new motor in it, but it has no oil in it. all it needs is a carb. any ideas for what kind of condition the motor will be in? has been garage kept. possibility pistons are rusted to the cylinder walls? will it need to be honed/ rebored and rebuilt again?

I recently got a used 02 Ford Sport Trac at 61,000 miles. Now I know I can use all three full synthetic, Mix blend, and regular conventional. But since I dont know how the previous owner treated the truck or engine would you go with something like a mix? I know you can now switch back and forth on oil, but I still dont like the idea. How about filters?

on a 94 Ranger manual transmission I was told to use 10/30 synthetic motor oil instead of the ATF. he told me that it was only because of an epa thing that gm got into with other fluids that ford went with ATF. anyone have an answer for whether or not I should do like I was told with this?

i have a 1966 ford mustang. (straight 6 engine 200ci) I recently had the engine rebuilt. Ever since then i have been getting low oil pressure readings. I don’t know the oil pressure readings before the rebuild because the gauge was working then. It has never gone in the danger zone but it often sits all the way on the low side of the oil gauge. (on the line between the danger zone and okay zone) Way to close for comfort. On really cold nights i will get reading that shows half (in the middle of low pressure and high pressure) but that only stays until the oil warms up. i have 10w 30 oil in the engine. any thoughts. Oil pump? wrong viscosity oil? I’m stumped

I recently purchased a used 2003 Ford Escort ZX2. I had the dealer’s mechanic shop do an oil change (Along with replacing the tensioner). I inquired about using synthetic oil, but he said it wouldn’t be worth it. I therefore had him use regular. When looking at the car’s manual, however, I discovered that Ford recommends and initially shipped that model with Synthetic. I’ve read on other Yahoo questions and answers that synthetics and naturals are interchangeable, but that the synthetic is free of the natural’s imputities and has a much higher break down temp, making it superiour in most regards. I’ve also read, though that it’s usually not necessary. That being said, whose advice should I stick with? The mechanics or the manufacturer’s. (Additional Info: The car has about 62,000 miles currently. I have no way of knowing if the previous owner(s) used synthetics or naturals, or how long or how many miles it’s been on natural. I only know that the dealer used naturals.)

I have a 2002 Ford Escape with a 110,000 miles on it. I know that there’s a lot of different types of motor oil and different brands, but I don’t know which I should buy. I’m looking for a good product for a good price.

What would you recommend I buy?
Is there a big difference between types and brands?

Any other input would by highly appreciated

                        Thanks

Hello, how you all doing. I drive my brother’s 2000 ford focus. He has been changing his oil himself, I can’t do it. He is in hospital, still in coma. I never done any oil change, what would be good place to get oil change? Firestone? Express oil? And my brother always says he puts Mobil 1 oil, full synthetic. Firestone told me they put kendall oil. I don’t know which place has Mobil 1 oil, or better kind. Please help me. Also does it matter what synthetic oil or filter I use if I get it changed every 3000 miles? Thank you very much. GOD bless you all!
