Ive been advised by Ford dealer in Qatar that its recommended to use the 10W30 motorcraft rather than the 5W40 specified in the car guide book:and this is due to climate consideration: What do u think?Definitely it will protect the engine against aggressive heat but wont it slower down the engine and make it feel more heavier?! opinions please.

I have a V-6 Ford Escape 2008. The Ford dealer says you can go 5000 miles of Semi-synthetic oil. I have always gone 3000 between oil changes before. I would like to use synthetic oil and do my own oil changes.

If you start using "synthetic" motor oil instead of regular oil can you go more miles before you have to change it? I have a 1993 ford taurus 3.8L automatic GL and use regular 5w-30 motor oil. I change the oil every 5000 miles. If you can go more miles before changing the "synthetic" oil then what would be the correct miles to wait before changing it? Also, do you have to use a higher grade oil filter with the "synthetic" oil?

Or Ford Formula E 5W-30 for that matter…

We have a 1984 Ford 350 class "c" camper with old gas. It backfires, hesitates and blows black smoke out of the exhaust. With gas prices, we don’t want to throw it away. Any ideas?

Just curious as to who supplies the oil for Ford Motorcraft.

My parents gave me their extra car when they were moving from jacksonville FL to Atlanta. when the gave me the car back in july it had 137,000 it now has 143,488 miles on it. i live in philly and i flew down and drove the car back with no problems. all of the machinics that i speak to all say that engine is in good shape. now i have read a lot of reviews about the focus not being a good car, especially it being a Ford, but all of the Ford that my parents have owned in the passed have been excellent vheicles. except that 1981 Ford Fairmount, it broke down everywhere we went.my mom had a 1989 Coguar for 13years with 319,000 my dad a 1995 Taurus Wagon, and got rid of it in 2004 with 213,000, And my mom still drives her 2001 Taurus that she brough brand new. Now i have a 2005 Taurus along with this 2000 Focus, how can i be more like my parents, to make this car last. i always get an old change when need. I was watching Motor Week last weekend, and they were saying that if u go and get a Engine Flush, that it will make your car last longer besides getting an oil change. but then when i ask people about getting a transmission flush also, they say don`t touch it, so i am confused. now i have not had no trouble with the car at all, but sometimes with i drive it, it will vibrate when i am at the light and it feels like it wants to cut off, but whiles driving the car drive smooths, nothing like a Cadillac or Lexus though(smile) so what my question is that a 10 year old vehicle with 143,000 should i get a Tune-up
