Had a click / clack on my new 2012 Kawasaki Ninja 250R during a cold start. It seems to be coming from the engine, but I suppose it could be the carbs flapping around. There are two possible causes based on the time the noise happened. 1. I did the 600 mile oil change and put new filter and full synthetic 10W40 in (am mechanically inclined, and used a torque wrench). 2. The weather got stupid cold, stupid fast. Ambient temperature here was about 37F. Starting in the not so cold garage, I didn’t get the clack. The noise goes away when the engine is warm (by the end of the video the noise is gone). Sounds start @ about 46 secs (I think the one @ 22 secs is camera fumble). If I had to guess, my ‘guess’ is the oil is cold and the noise is from the oil blow-by ball bearing and spring. However, I am looking for someone (perhaps a professional) to settle my nerves about this noise. I’ll comment if the noise completely goes away. Sidenote: I did notice the bike is a little less ‘harsh’ while shifting and running with the full synthetic Mobil 1 oil.

The production of DJSMP and DJSMP Oil products are different compared to regular engine oil production. Regular engine oil is produced by combining low molecular weight Chemistry compounds derived from crude oil to Chemistry compounds that maintain a satisfactory level of viscosity. However, DJSMP and DJSMP Oil products are produced from a synthetic lubricant base to become a high pressure resistant, ionic bond synthetic engine oil.
