how long does it take for a brand new fully synthetic oil to turn black? with the engine running… please answer in days or kilometers(miles) it will take before the fully synthetic oil to turn black (crude oil black-dirty).
Aside from that, will an engine with "sludge" mix with the new oil in a matter of days of driving? turning it black.
our car is a toyota corolla altis 1.6 (2002) with a supposedly 4L engine oil.
I took my Golf 2.0 to my neighbourhood mechanic around a month ago to change the engine oil. I’m going on a long road trip next week, and my dipstick indicates the oil level is a little on the low side (it’s in the safe zone, but about 25% of the length of the "safe zone"….so I wanted to add a little more for the trip. The mechanic shop went bankrupt, so I have no way of knowing what viscosity of oil was put in the motor…is it safe to mix some oil of a quart that might be of a different viscosity ? The oil is still good and doesn’t need to be changed for another 1500miles.

I own a 99 nissan sentra. I hope its just an engine seal that I have to replace. Its leaking a lot of engine oil. How much do you think it will cost to replace. tha tranny is on the opposite side of the car. so that will not have to be moved.
I have a Troy-Bilt push lawnmower (Model No. 11A-426A011) and I’ve been trying to determine what the oil to gas mixture should be before adding more engine oil. I’ve misplaced my users guide and the Troy-Bilt website doesn’t offer what I need. Does anyone know if there is a standard mixture, or where I can find a chart for particular models online?
