I have a 1966 Mustang C-code 289 with 82,000 original miles (recently purchase form the US),

I would like to know what type of engine oil would be recommend for my weather conditions. I already bough the filter Motorcraft FL-1A. I wanna know whats the best engine oil for hot weather, I was originally gonna purchase 10W-30 Motorcraft oil but the dealer in my country only carries the synthetic oil.

The weather is hot and humid here, the temp reaches 50 degrees Celsius (122 Fahrenheit) in the summer Lowest 5 degrees Celsius (41 Fahrenheit) for less than a month. I would say the average temperature is 35 degrees Celsius (95 Fahrenheit)

I did alot of research online and read alot of forum posts and websites, and I feel 10W-30 might not be right for my car, and believe 20w-50 would be suitable as in the cars original user manual 20w-40 is recommend but I cant seem to find that grade in my country or even online.

So my plan is to change the oil using the following material

Castrol GTX 20w-50 with ZDDPlus (a ZDDP Additive)
Motorcraft FL-1A Oil Filter

I dont want to switch to synthetic oil.

I need some advise as this is my first classic car, I am also planning to change the oil at 3,000miles intervals, please advise me on my choices.

I usually go to the same place to get my car serviced (a dealership) a little more expensive but worth it.
I needed a quick oil change before traveling out of town one weekend so i decided to get my oil change at a Mobile Express. Just this weekend I got stuck in the middle of a busy street. My car showed no signs of leaking oil and the check oil light turned on just minutes before my car stopped running. I then got my car towed by AAA to the dealership were I usually take my car and found out my cars oil filter was missing and my engine is shot (cost estimated at about 5,000). The Mobile station refuses to take responsibilities for their mistake….what should I do???? I NEED HELP :(

I got a cadillac and just found out i have to pay alot more for "full synthetic oil" and my dad thinks with that, you don’t have to get an oil change as often as normal cars, which i think was 3k miles… How often is it in caddys?? THANKS!

My friend brought up an interesting question. I currently have a street bike that I run fully snythetic Amsoil 10W-40 and it is amazing oil. And ever since I used it, he said he has been researching and asking about using fully synthetic oil in his car (Amsoil) due to how much smoother and better my bike performs from the previous oil I have used. And if it improved my bike that much, he was interested in using it in his car. But Amsoil fully synthetic for cars and not motorcycles.

My question is, his car has always used Castrol 5W-30 non synthetic and it has about 110K miles on it. Runs fine but he wants to try amsoil fully synthetic after seeing the results my street bike has. Heard nothing but good stuff about it and he wants to give it a try and see for himself.

Would that be ok making the switch? Or would it cause problems due to it never running snythetic in it before? I know for my bike, I used half synethic one oil change and it reacted terribly! Horrible shifting, temperature was a lot hotter, making bad engine noises and after I went back to fully synethic, all those problems went away.

Thanks. His car is a 1999 Honda Civic. 110K miles.

ok so me and my friend almost got caught stealing motor oil. now you might ask why would anyone steal motor oil? well the oil is called royal purple and if you know anything about cars its one of the most expensive motor oils (.00 per qrt). we also stole and amsoil oil filter (.00). the store is half an hour from the city we live in. the whole reason we went there in first place was to duplicate the key for my car but while in the store we decided to steal the oil.

so we go in the store and we duplicate the keys and then we take one quart of oil and the oil filter and put it in our pockets. we went to the cashier check out and paid for the duplicated keys. we walked out the store and the cashier didnt even notice we had something in our pockets. we went to my car and sat in there for about 15 minutes and decided to go back and get more oil.

so we go back the second time and get 5 more quarts of oil. we put 4 of them in our pockets and wanted to pay for one of them so we wouldnt look suspicious walking out of the store without buying anything. we have been stealing from this store numerous times before and never got caught. the store doesnt have those sensors on the doors that go off when you steal something. that is what makes it so easy to steal from there.

but what we didnt know is the store hired secret shoppers ( people hired to pretend they are shopping when they are actually looking for people stealing things). so not knowing that this lady was a store employee because she was dressed in regular clothes, she was watching our every move the whole time. she didnt see us actually putting the oil in our pockets but i guess it was pretty obvious that we had things in our pockets. so we went on and paid the for 1 quart and she was in line behind us with a shopping cart. as soon as we paid the the quart of oil and walked out the door she said excuse me im store security. me and my friend ignored her and just kept walking. she kept saying it will be a lot better if you just stop, she also said we already got you on survillance but we continued walking away from her. we walked away from where my car and parked and when we got far enough, we ran back fast to the car, got in and drove off. she didnt bother to run after us because she was kind of big. when i got in the car i looked back and i saw her talking on her cell phone. what we stole was about dollars worth. so thats pretty much what happened. now please answer my questions

1) what are the chances the me and my friend will get caught?
2) do you think when she was talking on her cell phone she was calling the police or the store manager?
3) are the cameras in the parking lot rolling 24/7 and can they get every single license plate of a car in the lot?
4) if we do get caught, how long will we go to jail for? im 19 and my friend is 17
4) when is it safe to go back to that store again?
5) do you think they will show us on the news?

My car is new (13,000 miles) and i change my oil about ever 2000 to 2500 miles with synthetic (royal purple) oil. Everytime I change my oil i smell burning oil for the first 100-200 miles. Then it goes away. The only time I smell it is if I stop and walk by the front of the car with the motor off. I just changed it for the 6th time and made sure not to drop oil on anything in the motor and I cleaned around the new oil filter with a rag to get the oil that drips off the oil pan and exhaust pipe (a little always drips when I remove the old filter). I still smell it. Is this normal in some cars. I have never smelled it before. thanks.

I need to buy 10 or 12l of motor oil for Chrysler Pacifica 4.0L – 2007.
I’ve been told that the brand of the oil is SAE-10W-30…
My husband is telling me that you can buy any motor oil for any cars…. is that true?
Well, I don’t know why the owner of this Chrysler car order this special oil from another continent and I want to help him. But I don’t know where I can find it online… can someone assist me, please?
I do not have time to physically buy it, I would like to buy it online and see how it is so I can send him the link to check first before I buy it.
Thanks in advance for your information.

I have a 1995 Subaru Impreza with 202000 miles on it. Should I use 10W30 or 10W40 oil? Jiffy Lube has always put 10W40 in it, but I dont take my cars to those vampires anymore.
I live in SLC, Utah
