I have determined that my LS1 has Piston Slap in an Advanced Form. I know that Synthetic Motor Oil is Thinner, and since I have changed to Synthetic, I have Discovered this ‘Knocking’ sound. I have been told to EITHER switch back to Conventional 10w-30 Oil, OR go to a Thicker Synthetic.

My Uncle uses Shell Rotella T Motor Oil in his Silverado 5.7L V8. He says that it helps Eliminate Piston Slap in his Engine. He also notices less Oil Burn-Off.

I have found that 15w-30 & 15w-40 would be good choices. However, I have not found any of these Synthetic Weights in the Stores.

However, I HAVE found a Mobile 1 Synthetic 15w-50 that is Specifically Designed for High-Performace Engines.

So, what kind of Synthetic Oil should be Used in an LS1 5.7L V8 that had Conventional 10w-30 in it?!? Are there any Mobile 1 Synthetics that are Thicker, that would work well in my LS1 V8?!?

I commute & run miles up so quickly, I want to start running fully synthetic oil 15,000 miles (per the guarentee on the bottle) & I don’t know how long the filter will be OK.

Currently. I have 2004 Chevy Cavalier which I have been changing oil (Valvoline dura blend) religiously every 3000 miles. Currently car has 125,000 miles. My maintenance shop now has jacked up price to .00 per oil change. I can go to another shop that uses Motor Craft dura blend for less charge. My question is it alright to change brands of motor oil still using dura blend & same viscosity of oil

I’m very big on natural/organic that are free of animal testing, so I tend to be a bit picky. I have had a very hard time finding a good concealer (I’ve tried tarte’s Eraser, Korres Wild Rose, and Josie Maran — I didn’t like any of them). Right now, I want to decide between Amazing Cosmetics Amazing Concealer (I don’t really get why it has a natural label — the only thing it’s free of is parabens) and Fresh Umbrian Clay Concealer. Amazing Concealer has better reviews (the clay concealer has a lot of mixed reviews), but it has mineral oil in it (probably not non-comedogenic?). However, it is silicone-free and has silica. It’s also waterproof, which would be good for me during P.E. Fresh’s concealer has silicone (I guess that’s not really such a big deal) and it is long-lasting, but they do not mention it being waterproof. But, unlike Amazing Concealer, it doesn’t have any mineral oil in it, and is free of parabens, sulfates, synthetic fragrances, synthetic dyes, and phthalates. I need the concealer for my dark circles. So, which do you think is better for me?

Thanks.
@ Smajhsajg A:

I asked which concealer is better for me out of the two I LISTED. I doubt Avon’s formulas are very natural, and pencil concealers are not good for undereye areas; they will tug on your skin!
I actually thought the Fresh Umbrian Clay Concealer would be healthier, but okay.

I have an 08′ GSX-R1000 with about 2,600 miles on it. I’ve been reading into this for quite some time now & haven’t been able to come to a conclusion due to a lot opinions about synthetic oils causing clutch problems. A few reviews said that if the bike has under 9,000 miles on it then synthetic would be a mistake because of the clutch problems, but should be used after the 9,000 mile mark for longer engine life. I live in northeastern Ohio if that helps. Should I stick to non synthetics, semi or just go fully synthetic?

Please let me know what you guys think. It will be much appreciated.

    Thanks

I have done EXTENSIVE RESEARCH and I know Nissan is an excellent brand. Also the Murano’s recieved high reviews on
    www.consumerguideauto.howstuffworks.com

I have read countless consumer reviews, and people who have them absolutely love them!

This is the car I am looking at :

    http://www.cars.com/go/search/detail.jsp;?tracktype=usedcc&searchType=21&pageNumber=0&numResultsPerPage=50&largeNumResultsPerPage=0&sortorder=descending&sortfield=PRICE+descending&certifiedOnly=false&criteria=K-%7cE-%7cM-_36_%7cB-15000%7cD-_6868_%7cN-N%7cR-250%7cI-1%2c7%7cP-PRICE+descending%7cQ-descending%7cZ-47710&aff=national&paId=302514778&recnum=14&leadExists=true

There is NOTHING on the Car Fax from 21,000 miles- 79,000 miles.
Which concerns me a little. No oil changes, no service of any kind.
I am in frequent contact with the Private Party Seller, I’ve seen her family on facebook. They look like really nice well off people.
I have asked her these questions
What type of transmission/motor oil/gasoline are you using?- Not answered yet
Do you have receipts of the service done on your vehicle over the past 2 years? – She said she is a minimalist & does not keep things she doesn’t need.
I have asked her several other questions..
Is there something else you can think of to ask her?

I DO KNOW that the 04′s had some transmission issues & the Mirano’s require CVT Transmission Fluid and 91 Octane fuel…

I have scheduled a meeting with the seller next wednesday, to test drive the vehicle. I also schedule an appointment with a Nissan dealership to run diagnostics on the vehicle and make sure everything looks as good as the interior and exterior do.

I’m 20 and this is my first car purchase, and my family is pressuring me to get a NEWER Kia or Hyndai with lower miles.
But I know Nissan is a better build brand, and it doesn’t matter what year it is! It is about the quality and how they are made.
So I am looking for some expert advice and opinions..
My main focus for a new vehicle was an SUV, reasonable fuel economy, cargo space, good quality vehicle that will last me a long time. Also affordability and appearance is huge to me. Not like Mercedes or Lexus! Just appealing to my eye :)
    Please help me..
-Thanks for help. I have looked at the Rogue! I love them, however they are more expensive to insure and a little more than what I am wanting to spend.
-I have checked on insurance & it is 0 a month
-In all honesty. I think asking questions and getting as much as I can from the buyer is perfectly reasonable. I would expect the same from a buyer if I were selling. And if she would tell me to F**k off.. O WELL her loss :) I can wait
    - I understand mileage is important. However, my main questions was: On this protocolar vehicle, should I be AS CONCERNED as with a standard vehicle? Such as Dodge..
So would you pay ,500 for an 04′ MO with 80K-?
